This route starts in Cala Montgó . Leaving the beach behind you, take Avinguda de Montgó. Turn first right into carrer Trencabraços, which shares some stretches of the GR-92 National trail. Once at the top, facing the islet Illa Mateua , turn left into Carrer Cambres which becomes carrer Punta Montgó, turn left and follow the coastline, you will see GR-92 signs all the way. The path meanders along to Cinc Sous Point, the bay of Salpatx and a stretch of cliffs Les Penyes. This trail will lead you to Port de la Clota.
Next cross the Port along street Romeu de Corbera until you reach Riells beach . Continue along the beach edged by the Little Prince promenade until you come to Passeig Marítim. Follow the coastline into to l'Escala old centre. Take Passeig Lluís Albert, down to Port d’en Perris and along the seaside to La Platja . Walk to the far end, beach on your right hand side, where you will find a set of a stone steps by some rocks. Climb those steps up to carrer Cargol becomes Ronda Mar d’en Manassa. Keep straight beside the sea until you reach Cala de La Creu , where some old fishermen's huts will draw your attention. The trail becomes a bit of a climb to l’Oberta , via a set of ample wooden steps. When you reach the pavement at the top, please mind the cycle lane. Gaze over the water for an unequaled view of Empúries beaches whilst going down a gentle 200 mts slope along the Ronda del Pedró till you reach the lampadòfor (a monument to the Olympic flame). Take the right turn over the bridge for Passeig d’Empúries .
The Passeig d’Empúries is over 2.5 kilometres long and runs parallel to Empúries beaches . Thus, it borders the beaches Rec del Molí , Portitxol , Muscleres and Moll Grec , up to Sant Martí d'Empúries. Walk southwards by Sant Martí hamlet and turn left at the main road junction. Keep going straight for a few meters. Take the first left turning, Camí Vell Les Corts and keep going towards Mas Sastruc (Parc de les Olors) . At the crossroads of Mas Sastruc leave the farmhouse on your left and go towards the main road. Cross over at the narrowest point.
Right in front there is a dirt path near the Tourism Office , now look for the fingerpost sign "Camí d'Empúries a Les Corts ". Stay with the trail and it will take you through a cluster of farmhouses. The track goes round in nearly a circle. Stay with it branches out towards the restaurant El Molí de l’Escala and on the suburb Camp dels Pilans . Take the south street bordering the houses. Look for the fingerpost sign "Camí Ral d'Empúries- Via Heraklea " and walk on along Camí Ramader, bordered by pines tree. This trail will lead you to the handsome Pi Gros (Big Pine Tree). Thence, continue southwards to join the path that leads to the main road. Cross with great care and walk up the path between the farmhouses Masos dels Recs . You will come to a road. Do a right turn here and you will see the football field on your left. A bit further along, look for the hut at the start of the first right turning, a few yards down it becomes a stay on that track for 1,3 kms and it will take you south towards Cortal Nou . You will see a fingerpost sign at the start of a left turning eastwards. You will now be on Camí dels Termes, stay on it until the very end, crossing the old sand quarry keeping an eye on the green and white signs, you will come to a bifurcation. Take the left dork onto Carrer del Milà, following the campsites fenced perimeter all the way until you come to the T junction. Turn right and stay on it to be back at Cala Montgó .

This route will lead you by the seaside passing by a number of beaches, coves and panoramic viewpoints. It will also take you by traditional farmhouses and rural paths with some very interesting flora and scenery.
