Located in a former abattoir (a 1913 building), the Anchovy and Salt Museum takes you back in time to some unique culture and heritage. The permanent exhibition shows the history of local fishing from the 16th century until today, especially anchovy salting, an industry which, over the centuries, has been the town’s driving force, giving it world wide fame.
The Museum organizes cultural tours.
Beside the museum are the old town’s fountain and wash-house , dating back to 1796.
