We can reach this beach on foot from Empúries promenade close to the access to the Archaeology Museum of Catalunya-Empúries.
We can reach POrtitxol beach on foot, from Empúries seaside path, where it meets the access to the Archaeology Museum of Catalunya-Empúries. The area was the gateway for the Ancient Greeks and Romans to the Iberian Peninsula. The setting of this beach is spectacular. On the right, you will find some wooden steps well worth climbing to enjoy the view from the lookout point over the Bay of Roses . As you climb, you will see the Arch of Portitxol , an unusual rock formation which is very popular. Close to this beach is the historic Hostal d’Empúries , the setting for countless advertisements and some films, such as Menú degustació , by Roger Gual .
