This is a fine sandy beach, sheltered from the north wind, the tramuntana . It is located at L'Escala 's southernmost point. Its round shape has given rise to the suggestion that it may have been the site of an ancient sinkhole, a depression which has then been further eroded by sea action. There are a number of tourist facilities along the strand and various services on the beach proper, including disabled toilets. Close to the Montgrí, Medes and Baix Ter Natural Park , this beach leads to a right side coastal footpath towards Ventosa Point. On the left side, a walkboard leads to a trying climb towards Montgó Tower , which was built to warn of pirate attacks. There is a car park close to the beach.
